Tarabya
The moment a night becomes worth staying for.

The story
On this shore of Tarabya, the story of one hotel has been written again and again for more than a century.
The summer embassies of Therapia, gatherings on the Bosphorus shore and long evenings that lasted well beyond dinner.
Then came the Konak — until, in 1954, a fire brought an era to an end.
Reborn on the same shore: balls, celebrations, the stars of Yeşilçam and nights etched into Istanbul's memory.
Years later, the doors opened once again — and on the first floor, Laurus.
And a story that begins again, every time.
The legend
No one ever said it aloud. But on the old nights of Tarabya, everyone knew: if a laurel leaf arrived with the last drink, that table now belonged to another night.
The doors stayed open for them, the music played for them, and the Bosphorus stayed awake for them.
Not a laurel wreath, but a small sign that the evening was not yet over.
The ritual
Taking its name from the laurel, they called that moment
Laurus
Latin · Laurel
For centuries the laurel wreath has been a symbol of honour and victory. In the story of Tarabya, reborn time and again, it speaks of being crowned anew. In our story, a single laurel leaf carries the trace of a night worth remembering.

Evenings
A programme that moves with the week and the seasons — announced first to Laurus members.
Our signature aperitif ritual for the after-work crowd and sunset seekers: cocktails and bites inspired by the trade routes between Istanbul and Asia, at a set price before dinner service begins.
Curated live performances, from modern jazz ensembles and soul musicians to contemporary Asian-inspired instrumental sets — an elegant backdrop that evolves with the evening.
Renowned mixologists from Asia's most celebrated bars take over the counter for exclusive, one-night-only experiences.
Collaborations with luxury houses, cultural institutions, artists, tea houses and spirit makers — each with a limited-edition menu inspired by a different Asian destination.
A vibrant end-of-week gathering of signature cocktails, sharing dishes and live music, for hotel guests and the neighbourhood alike.
Guided tastings of Asian spirits, teas and ingredients: the stories behind sake, shochu, Japanese whisky and baijiu, told by the bar team and visiting experts.
Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, Shanghai: for a few weeks at a time, one city sets the food, the drinks and the music.
The room
Like a big, cosy blanket: trad jazz, swing, smooth jazz sets and bebop, with live music on selected nights.
A hushed sophistication of leather, sandalwood, tobacco leaf, saffron and pink pepper — made for aged spirits and spiced cocktails.
Our bartenders are guides: they introduce unfamiliar flavours, explain rare ingredients and tell the story behind every creation.
